It is 453m2 of living space.
Oh yes, sorry. The rest was garage and such. That changes everything. :D Don’t get me wrong. I think that’s completely fine for you because it makes you happy (at least in the short term) and you can afford it. But especially those who have plenty of money are probably the first to realize that all that stuff is actually just ballast. In the end, only the beloved living beings we surround ourselves with and the time we can spend with them make us happy. Whether it’s 60m² or 660m² doesn’t really matter. :)
Do you hoard your old mobile phones? No resale or return for recycling? That’s more like waste.
No. I don’t hoard phones – I simply don’t buy any more. My phone is from 2012, a Samsung Star II. It’s been working for 6 years. And… my battery is replaceable – but it has never been necessary. That was priority number one when I bought it back then.
Well, this is not meant to be a contest for the oldest phone. But the very approach of resale, return, or passing it on etc. shows that many, especially those who can and want to afford it, constantly buy the newest phone – regardless of whether they need it. Simply because it’s so nice to have it. And the manufacturers have helpfully built in a reason for it – the broken battery.
They can hardly add any real added value anymore and out of desperation equip the devices with golden cases or something similar. And people go along with it. If I were the head of marketing – I would piss myself laughing.
