Massive construction or prefabricated house

Besides the shorter construction time, is there actually any other reason to choose a prefabricated house if the price is the same?

The shorter construction time is actually just an advantage that is often mentioned, but nonsense. By the time the house is manufactured in the factory, the shell of the building in solid construction is already standing. Effectively, the construction time is also identical. In my opinion, it is like many things an intuitive decision. There are no significant advantages or disadvantages on either side.

How the hell is one supposed to make a decision then?

It's largely a mental thing. When I knock against the wall, I just want to have a real solid wall.

The actual advantages of solid construction, in my opinion: The construction is more flexible, you can go into the shell and still make many small changes. During the electrical and plumbing installation discussion, we went through the shell and marked everything with the spray can. You also have more opportunities to contribute your own work. And in our region, a solid house is still held in higher regard and is therefore easier to sell. But I am also in the deepest part of Bavaria.

A partly decisive advantage for us was also: a custom-designed house was significantly cheaper as a solid construction.

Luxhaus told us that the indoor climate is better in a timber frame house.
