Masonry from Ytong 24 or 30 for single-family house?

So we built with a 42.5 Ytong and are satisfied with it. Of course, you can't expect much sound insulation.

24cm Ytong as an exterior wall? Considering that around external electrical boxes, water pipes (shower, bathtub, etc.) are chiseled out by 5cm in places, it would only be 19cm then.

There are also some plumbing companies who, without batting an eye, install the internal supply/exhaust air of the controlled residential ventilation system into the exterior wall; with a 24cm wall, that might leave only 5cm.

The jump from 24 to 30 is also crazy (10k€), that can’t be right since the actual difference is limited!

The additional costs are not just the stone. If you want to fully maintain the planned living area, everything becomes larger.

So we built with a 42.5 Ytong and are satisfied with it. Of course, you can’t expect too much sound insulation.

Is that a typo or do you actually mean 42.5?
I wouldn’t have expected any compromises in sound insulation here.

At least with TuC, besides the thicker stone, there is also better roof insulation.

So we built our garage monolithically with 24 ytong... but a single-family house? My minimum would be 36 cm... We ourselves have 17.5 cm calcium silicate brick (20 / 2.0) + 14 cm ETICS 035. I don’t know the energy saving ordinance standard, as we didn’t build according to any standard. In any case, we are satisfied and have no problems with sound insulation... 24 cm already sounds very much like the "cheapest" offer...

According to the Energy Saving Ordinance, you must have (at least) built accordingly, because that is what must be complied with.
