Hi!

Could you maybe name a few varieties that are good for making apple juice? To be honest, I don’t even know which variety I have myself. These apple trees have been on the property for a long time, even before I acquired it. But the apples do taste sweet...

Best regards,
sennor :D

Hello!

There are now really so many apple varieties that even experts lose track. And breeding continues, with new apple varieties being "born". I can give you a few examples.

Sweet apple varieties:
- Golden Delicious: sweet-aromatic
- Jonagold: sweet, with a fine acidity
- Gala Royal: sweet-aromatic
- Elstar: pronounced aroma
- Cox Orange

You can also make syrup from the juice of the apples. For this, you need 400g of sugar per 1/2 kg of juice. Put the apple juice with the sugar into a pot, heat everything and stir until the sugar has dissolved well. Let it boil for about 15 minutes and skim off the foam. The syrup is finally poured into clean and sterilized [Twistoff] bottles.

The syrup can then be diluted with mineral water or tap water and is a very good refreshing drink.

Best regards,

Hi Garden Design!

Thank you for your explanations. Such a syrup is surely good, and you can make a lot of good juice with a little syrup. I am already looking forward to autumn when the apples are ripe. Hopefully, I will put my resolutions into action this time!

Best regards,
sennor :)
