Make concrete bases and point foundations for a pergola?

Hello everyone,

we have ordered a Pergolux pergola with wall mounting. One side will be attached to the masonry of the house and the other side will stand on two legs.

The pergola has a height of 235 cm at the bottom. However, I need to raise it to at least 250 cm or build a base about 15 cm high for each leg. The bases must also have exactly the same height.

The base will be built on the existing terrace, which already partially has a foundation at the mentioned spots. However, I am still looking for the right method.

1) Place prefabricated concrete bases (step stones or similar) on the old foundation in Speiß? Will that hold?

2) Create a point foundation on the existing foundation? What should be considered?

I imagine it roughly like in the pictures, just a bit lower... the last picture shows the spot on our terrace where a base should be built.

Maybe someone has an idea?

Thank you in advance and best regards
Tim

That seems to me to be a shaky matter. It also looks a bit illegal… is your Pergolux pergola not supposed to have any inclination because of the rainwater?

To what extent is it wobbly? The pergola has an integrated gutter with its own slope and water drainage in the support legs. In this respect, I do not have to factor in any inclination.

Why don't you order the pergola, or rather the posts, in the correct length?

Because they are only available in this length, or a custom-made version causes approximately €2000 additional costs.

Hello Tim,

I assume that you want to increase the installation height to 250cm because of a [Rollladenkasten], right?

Have you considered adjusting the legs to the desired height using an adjustable post carrier?
You can see this approach in the attached picture.

Or have you already found a solution by now?

I am facing the same task.

Good luck with the installation!
