Hello to you furniture experts,
I am facing a really stupid problem that I cannot solve. In my kitchen, there is a 90 cm wide freestanding stove from Smeg (gas hob and electric oven), which I want to replace because the oven is no good anymore. To the left of this freestanding stove is a 60 cm wide Faktum base cabinet. Together, the width is therefore 1.5 m. (On the right side are all the other base cabinets, which cannot be moved.)
I would like, instead of the current freestanding stove, a base cabinet with 80 cm width where a hob can be installed (hob not from Ikea). To the left of that, I would take a 60 cm x 195 cm tall cabinet in which the oven can be installed at eye level (oven not from Ikea). This would result in a 10 cm gap on the left wall, which is not a problem. Since I took over the kitchen and don’t know the fronts, which are partly outdated anyway, I would take this opportunity to replace all the fronts (there are more Faktum cabinets) so that everything is uniformly new. So far so good, I found all the products I need online in the reorder service, EXCEPT: the countertop! I need a Faktum countertop with a total length of at least 3.20 m. Question: where can I get it? What are the exact dimensions? Is it important that it is only 3.8 cm high? Can I also use a Metod countertop?
The easy alternative would be to buy another freestanding stove. But most freestanding stoves are 60 cm wide, meaning there would be a 30 cm gap, which would look unpleasant. Also, I really wanted to have the hob separate from the oven, which should be at eye level...
What would you do? Thanks to you!!!!
