A quick note about the gable windows. If the room on the south side is to be divided in the middle, the current window is suboptimal. Possibly an additional window in the gable on the north side.

I understand.....but if so, I would currently prefer an open concept.
My idea was that the entrance door and the partition wall next to it should be made of glass, so you could bring light from the staircase (don't know if that makes technical sense :-)?)
I am planning such floor-to-ceiling windows for us.
The knee wall will be at 0 for us or not raised at all, because according to the architect, the building would look too bulky from the outside... the clear room height for the ground floor and upper floor is planned to be 2.60m.
I have already seen in some roof windows that a minimum pitch of 35° must be given, which would not work for us.
At the moment, I have settled on the tilt-and-turn windows.
