Hi there

From when is the post you quoted?
In the past, RS insurances also covered house construction - but unfortunately there are more and more bad apples (on both sides) and therefore more and more legal disputes.
I also inquired at my RS insurance - they told me that the insurance with the "big A" was the last one that still insured house construction - and that they have not done so for several years now...

You can forget RS for house construction.
Better to invest more time in finding a suitable company and spend a bit more money to have an expert accompany the construction project from the first offer to the final acceptance.

Have a nice evening!

Just to quickly add my two cents:

Yesterday I also inquired about a legal expenses insurance regarding house construction.

There is no one who insures that.

I think the insurance companies find it too expensive by now, as there have often been disputes during house construction.

I think the only help is to not sign contracts immediately, but to read them carefully and, if in doubt, seek appropriate legal advice before signing.

Furthermore, I have made it a habit to document every "little thing." Every appointment is recorded by me, every phone call with the contact person noted....

Even if the topic may no longer seem quite current, I have meanwhile found something that should correspond to what was being sought here. If you enter "Bauherren-Rechtsschutz" in Google, there are now quite decent results. However, only from one provider, which is probably quite reputable. I want to build next year, which is why I came across this post and the forum. Maybe it will help one or the other.

I also have to give my two cents. Back then, the Sparkasse offered us legal protection for construction. However, it cost almost €1300. The insurance was from a provider with Ö as the first letter. Unfortunately, I don’t remember the name. According to the Sparkasse, they are probably the only providers of such insurance.

That could have been Örag. I only know the offer from Sparkasse in connection with [der Provinzial]. The lump sum is probably calculated based on the financing amount. I will get some information.
