Hello everyone,
Recently, I noticed that there is a water stain on the ceiling upstairs at my grandfather's house.
So I went up to the unfinished attic and took a look at the whole thing.
The culprit is the ventilation pipe. The spot where it protrudes from the roof seems to be leaking.
After that, I resealed the seals on the roof with special silicone, but a little moisture is still coming in.
I noticed that the roofing membrane at the spot where the pipe protrudes is only cut out and not fixed in place.
Do you think it’s enough if I seal it with special tape for roofing membranes? So that moisture does not get under the membrane, will that hold?
Is it then not so bad that there is a little moisture between the tiles and the roofing membrane around the pipe?
Pictures attached.
Thanks and best regards
