Hello everyone,

we are currently looking for a lawn mower - we have about 600 m² of lawn (eventually a few bushes etc. are supposed to be planted there).
Our landscaping gardener recommended a Sabo - does anyone have experience with that? I would like a mulching mower. I found Makita quite appealing, others swear by Honda or Husqvarna...

I would rather not have a cable - battery-powered ones are also very expensive; currently, I am most convinced by petrol.

Thanks for your tips and opinions.

Yes, with petrol you are independent... although they are always too loud for me...

with Makita you can't go wrong...

Wired devices have the advantage of being significantly quieter and not provoking the anger of neighbors when mowing at 2 p.m. on a Saturday. Furthermore, these devices are lightweight and the technology is quite simple since everything runs on a basic electric motor. It's foolproof, except for running over the cable. Batteries don't last long and are not particularly good value for money. Especially for 600 sqm, that could be tight. The power of battery mowers is still rather modest, although battery mowers are slowly gaining ground. We will probably rely on a robotic lawn mower and additionally have a simple regular mower (probably corded), which is only to be used very rarely when the robot can no longer handle it (e.g., the first mowing if you wait too long). Brand? The price rather determines the quality. 600 sqm is not exactly small either, so a 300 euro mower certainly won’t be much fun. How about a used one from the 1000€+ category? Mulching is a good idea; all the robots do that anyway.

My father says that too - but I think that's a bit too much of a good thing for that.

Yes, 600sqm is quite a lot, but using a ride-on mower for that is like using a cannon to kill a sparrow...

What do you plan to do with the clippings? Leave them or dispose of them?
