Hello everyone,

we have reserved a plot of land which we want to buy and build on with a developer. Due to building windows, cardinal direction, etc., there are many different options regarding the placement of the house, entrance and garage side, number and position of the terrace(s), etc. We are currently planning a few options with our house consultant, but I think it could be approached even more "professionally"?!

I know a landscape architect more for the garden, once the house is already standing, etc. - to what extent does it make sense, on the one hand, to involve this architect in order to have the garden properly prepared for the terrace position, etc., and on the other hand, to what extent does someone like that also help with positioning the house, etc. - as it all overlaps...

Thanks in advance!

That makes sense if you have enough money left for this little toy ;)

Hello,

well, whether it absolutely has to be a landscapearchitect, I would like to put that up for discussion...;)

We already involved the garden landscaper we trust in the planning before construction began and were more than surprised at everything he recommended, offered, and ultimately also built perfectly for us.

Starting from the strip foundations for the garages, through the complete drainage (connection of downpipes, light wells, light courtyard, garage drainage, yard drainage as well as backflow valves where necessary), installation of a cistern (under the yard) with a water outlet in the garden, construction of the natural stone wall for the terrace, enclosure of the property with a base wall and fence, leveling of the garden, seeding of the lawn, enclosure and creation of the light courtyard, construction of the stairs to the front door and the terrace, as well as the paving of garage driveways, parking space, terrace and access area – all of this was done by our garden landscaper.

He even gave us one or two tips regarding the drainage pipes that saved us several meters of piping and thus real money compared to the architect’s planning.

Therefore, I also recommend involving this trade as early as possible.

Regards,

Dirk
