But my product designers don't say that... Strangely, they still prefer anthracite over pure black

Not black... now everyone has their anthracite-black-whatever-not-colors-gray-scale and white in the house - now it’s going back to the warm brown tones ;) Tell that to your product designer : P

We chose a high-gloss kitchen in lacquer and fire-engine red with white accents. Visually I like it, but I would never choose high-gloss again. The lacquer should actually only be cleaned with a chamois leather. Foil owners sometimes use window cleaner, which works quickly. I would expect maintenance errors with the lacquer caused by tenants. The same applies to the built-in furniture: matte lacquer for the book front in the living space, melamine for the grandkids' sleeping nook. I can’t see the difference without glasses, the care of the melamine is totally easy, the care of the matte lacquer obviously not. Maybe I’m not demanding enough to appreciate that :) Best regards Gabriele

Can you even generally recommend gloss or matte? No! There are matte surfaces where everything sticks and you can't even wipe it away with one swipe. We have gloss and use a damp cloth. Occasionally, not constantly. At most, all-purpose cleaner. From my experience, I wouldn't shy away from gloss, rather from matte, which always looks smudgy.
