We received two safety glass panels from the carpenter. A photo was mounted on the back (rapeseed picture and one from the vacation [mountain+lake]). The panel was glued and sealed in one go. Sockets were also cut out. I find this very recommendable, as it is individual and easy to clean. The cost for both panels (~140*60cm and ~240*60cm) with a total of three cutouts was 1200€.

hallelujah, I finally found the photos deep in the hard drive.
We saved the panel to the right of the lake picture, which we now regret because the wall there is quite dirty. Next time something will go there :D

Quite honestly, I would have preferred to spend the €1200 on a better countertop that can handle water, because yours doesn’t look so great anymore.

The countertop was actually significantly more expensive because it’s solid oak :) . But that’s certainly a matter of taste. Those who choose wooden countertops usually have to accept that the countertop will look worn eventually. What you see in the picture, however, is dust because the wooden boards above the glass pane were installed on the same day. If you were to see the countertop now after four years (the last full oil treatment was over two years ago), it certainly wouldn’t be for you ;) What actually bothers me the most is the unglazed corner. That’s why I would always tend to have the kitchen glazed over the entire length and not just in the area around the stove or the sink.

Now I would like to see the same with acrylic. It would be much cheaper, the question is whether it makes a big visual difference.

I’m facing the same question: what should go behind the stove as a splash guard? With our kitchen manufacturer, glass (with a custom photo) would have cost around 900 euros. That’s way too expensive for us.
You mention hundreds of designs for little money. Sounds good. :) Do you have a specific tip where I can look? I would be happy!
