now it's getting funny..... I actually received an offer today: between 600-800€ with this scope of services: the services to be rendered would be: with the planner, determine whether the object in the planning reaches KFW55 level, application submission, confirmation of construction execution.

Best regards.....

another offer in the amount of 2% of the construction sum =7,000€ content of the service: Part 1:
[*]Basic investigation/calculation and verification for KfW Efficiency House 55, [*]if necessary, preparation of a catalogue of measures to achieve the efficiency house. [*]Application to the KfW (confirmation of the application (BZA))
Part 2:
[*]Construction supervision according to KfW [*]On-site inspections of measures and materials [*]Documentation/cost evidence for the KfW [*]Ventilation concept according to DIN 1946-6/thermal bridge verification KfW [*]Confirmation after implementation to the KfW
I already talked to the second one on the phone. seems competent... I will call the first one tomorrow.....

How can this be? 10x more expensive or cheaper?

You already have an expert, now it’s just about the KfW formality. I would take the cheapest (officially approved) one you can find.

The 2 wants to oversee the construction. It is more complex and accordingly much more expensive. Whether he is worth his money.

Hm

Hello Bieber. I don’t know if my construction supervising expert can take on the monitoring of the requirements of a Kfw55 house, or if he has the competence for it. I will ask him. I don’t know exactly what the "cheap one" does. I also don’t want to be "ripped off" because I have already read that some house-building companies "tune" with the software to get better results. (See VW scandal). To what extent the "cheap one" can check that I don’t know. I’ll keep you updated...

So the cheap one is a chimney sweep who made an incompetent impression on the phone. I contacted another company that only deals with the topic of energy. They calculate the thermal insulation and thermal bridges anew and submit the KFW application for 450€. For an additional 200-300€ they check all invoices and delivery notes of the installed components and materials for accuracy and completeness. All necessary documents are requested by the site manager as needed. After successful verification, the energy company confirms this to the KFW. Alternatively, they also offer about 6 site visits at 250€ each to do a visual inspection in addition to the document review. How did you handle it? With construction supervision? Or just the essentials?

IMHO the construction supervision by the economically independent expert is mandatory at KfW and not an option; what the chimney sweep offers is not KfW-compliant. Ultimately, the visual inspection helps to check whether exactly what you ordered is actually delivered. However, this relates to the quality of window connections, the production of insulation, etc. This will probably be more important for your house in the next 50 years than the small flaw on the window or similar, since it is never or only hardly accessible again.

I would not do without it for the few euros.
