Hello dear builders,

Who has experience and can help me. I have been living in the house for 2 years, now the outdoor area is up. We have now laid dimpled membrane to make the terraces, it already seemed wrong to me, now I have read and am still unsure. Did my construction company just put up a house without waterproofing the outside or what?

So the house has no basement, the neighbor said that the company applied bitumen and then we put slurry on it and that would be enough. Additionally, we are putting dimpled membrane, that would then be more than enough.

Now I don't know, is the dimpled membrane installed the right way, did the company really apply bitumen, is [QUOTE[/QUOTE] everything we are doing enough, or should I call a professional? Attached is a picture, I am totally confused. What do I have to do to protect my house from moisture and damage in 10 years? I don't want to forget anything, everyone says something different: a road builder wants to do it for 150 euros. He says he will remove the gravel, put slurry on, and dimpled membrane with the dimples towards the wall. Another says 5,000 euros, there has to be insulation, then a layer, no idea what, then styrofoam, then the dimpled membrane with drainage.

I am uncertain.

That is a bit too little information now. Solid (with or without ETICS) or timber frame? You can see the sealing slurry in the pictures. You cannot see if there is any bitumen anywhere. But you should be able to see on your invoice whether something like that was done. For a solid house without ETICS, sealing slurry in the base area is also sufficient. Your patio door, as it looks in the picture, also has sealing slurry. Personally, that would not be enough as waterproofing for me, but maybe there is something under the sealing slurry. Regarding the dimpled membrane in the picture, it is a dimpled membrane without fleece. Normally, it belongs with the dimples towards the wall. Whether you should use a dimpled membrane with or without fleece also depends on your wall construction. Don’t you have any pictures from the construction phase or documents showing how it was at least planned?

So, as it looks, bitumen was applied, then the green Storodur or whatever it's called, bitumen again on top of that. My husband applied the slurry on it, on the slurry

I think bitumen was applied on stone, then plaster was applied, my husband did slurry...

The house is laid stone on stone. Waterproof slurry, yes, you can see it on the terrace, underneath there must have been bitumen at least once.

Yes, that looks pretty good. However, I would lay the dimpled membrane with the dimples facing the wall or buy a dimpled membrane with fleece and then place it with the fleece side against the wall.

Looks (almost everything) good. Sealing is okay. Studs of the foil towards the wall (the foil is meant to protect the wall from stones drilling into the moisture barrier and damaging it - it does nothing more). The only question left is how the sealing of the terrace window was done. Nothing can be seen, as your husband applied the sealing slurry on whatever.
