Is the dream of a home realistic with our financing?

3200 EUR is (as a family income) quite a bit below average and I wouldn’t build a house with that today.

My two cents.

I actually find 3200 EUR solid for a family income, I would even go as far as to say that this represents the average! Typically, a normal earner + the second person with a mini-job/part-time.

Something between 3700 and 3800 is the average. For homeowners, around 4500+.

With us, it is then below average because my wife is on parental leave for 3 years first. Before that, however, it was above, and we had saved up a lot of equity. But at the moment, there is no problem with the installment and everything.

We had already argued about that before. Median net income in DE is 3440 € for 4 persons. For 2 persons it's 2460 €. How much home builders have in the median I don't know. But I consider 4500 € to be an overestimate.

no, it doesn’t mean that. It only means: most builders (new construction) are well above average.

ok then it was 3440 the 4500 (ok..I think it was 4400) I got from a not insignificant construction financer. It’s about household income.
