Is risk life insurance possible despite pre-existing conditions?

I also have Cosmosdirect… however, you are not allowed to lie even without a check.

I just called Cosmos and filled out an application online with a lady. I cannot confirm that there is no health examination. I had to list everything online and also had to provide my treating doctors and release them from confidentiality. Well, as I see it right now, Cosmos doesn’t want me anyway. The PDFs with the application copy and the application confirmation that I downloaded are only 0 KB in size, so empty, and the website won’t let me log in anymore. It just says Unauthorized. Very nice. Maybe it’s just a server error and it will work again later... Hopefully, I will find the application confirmation again because I am supposed to print it out, sign it, and send it in.

Edit: By logging out and logging in again, I can at least get back to the site. Unfortunately, I still can’t find the application confirmation and application copy there...

Since I already have accident insurance there, I went to Württembergische Versicherung today to submit an application. The nice gentleman went through the health questions with me, said it would be difficult, but you have to submit the application to find out whether you will be accepted or not. In terms of price, Württembergische is two classes more expensive than Cosmos. At Cosmos, with a 25-year term and €200,000 insurance sum, I would have a prospective premium of €7 (but it could be higher after review), while at Württembergische it is €50 for the same coverage. As a minimum, with a 15-year term and a sum of €100,000, the premium is still a good €20. Oh, how nice it is to have alternatives. A colleague also suggested I try Debeka, which I will do tomorrow since I have no time left today. And if these three reject me, I will have to look for an independent insurance broker/advisor....

You can’t compare apples to oranges, you will never get the RLV for €7 with your pre-existing conditions. If you have several insurances with Württ, this has a positive effect. There is probably a risk surcharge or an exclusion. Would your bank agree to the latter? After one rejection, doing countless further attempts is usually pointless, insurers pass this on internally. If the premium is too high for you, have a decreasing RLV offered that is based on the repayment of your loan; here you can noticeably save something.

Try Alte Leipziger.
And as I said, ask at the bank (are you already committed to one?) if they offer a group insurance.
It works like this: you can use it only to pay the loan or the installments, but there are no health questions for it.

Well, I’m more comparing Pink Lady with Granny Smith. I know that I won’t get the RLV for 7 €, but that’s the only figure I can name from Cosmos. If they then charge a 40 € risk surcharge, the insurances are quite comparable in price. I don’t know if my bank agrees to an exclusion and I want to find that out only after I’ve been rejected by the insurance. Oh, if that’s the case, then maybe I should wait first before approaching more insurers. With Württ. the premium is afaik constant; with Cosmos the premium would increase over the years and then later decrease again. The bank is Sparda-Bank. I don’t know if they offer group insurance, but I find the fact that you can only service the loan with it acceptable. I’ll find out if Sparda-Bank (or an affiliated insurer Edit.: ok, it’s DEVK) offers something like that and get back to you. Or does someone here happen to know? Thanks anyway for your answers and have a nice evening!
