Is house construction possible without solar and renewable energies?

Hello, I am planning to build next year. Is it still possible according to the current energy saving ordinance to build without solar? Some construction companies offer to forgo regenerative energies by adding more insulation. However, my construction company says that it is not possible. Regards Hartmut

So our house will not get solar or photovoltaic. The walls do not need insulation thanks to a good type of brick. There will be an air-water heat pump. That is even easily sufficient for KfW70.

The statement from your construction company is simply wrong!

With us: formally Kfw 70, actually about Kfw 55 How achieved: without solar, but with geothermal energy, controlled residential ventilation, highly insulated building envelope

As an addition: Of course, a air-to-water heat pump also uses renewable energy (heat from the circulating air), but I suspect your post referred more to solar and photovoltaic, right?

Hello, No, I also mean without [Luft-Wasser-Wärmepumpe] and the like. A completely normal condensing boiler and nothing else. Maybe also important how I want to build. It should be a bungalow with brick cladding, 90 sqm living area with 50 sqm garage directly in the bungalow. In my opinion, with such a small living area, [Luft-Wasser-Wärmepumpe] or the like is not worthwhile. You simply can't save enough for it to ever pay off. And I also want to do without [Solaranlage], as I have almost no hot water consumption. Regards Hartmut

Well, with a well-insulated building envelope and a gas condensing boiler, the Energy Saving Ordinance shouldn't be a problem - economically speaking, you don't necessarily have to put unprofitable solar thermal systems on the roof. Only in the case of a later resale, for example, KfW70 might perform a bit better. Ultimately, it depends on your actual consumption - and the gas boiler easily handles hot water preparation in summer on its own ;-) Or alternatively an air-to-water heat pump - if the conditions are right (get it calculated).
