Is a personal IKEA voucher transferable?

Hello everyone,

I received a personalized IKEA voucher from Ikea Wallau because there was a promotion recently if you paid with the IKEA credit card. However, the voucher is only valid for about 1 month (June) and is tied to the card.

Does anyone maybe know if it is possible to lift this restriction? For example, I buy something with the voucher and return it?
The background is that I currently don’t need anything from IKEA, but it would be a shame to let it expire, and passing it on is practically not possible...

I would be happy if someone could help me.

Vouchers do not expire, especially not after one month.

Do you mean the "Aktionskarte"? I think those are valid for 6 months.

Yes, in this case indeed, IKEA Wallau had a promotion in April and I believe May. Once you spent more than €200, you received a voucher worth 10% of the purchase value, after the end of the promotion. However, this is now only valid until the beginning of July and, as already mentioned, tied to the IKEA Family payment card...

You can use this voucher to purchase a gift card at the checkout. That means loading the value of the voucher onto the gift card. This is then neither personalized nor does it expire. ;)

Hi,

no, you cannot redeem it. If you buy something and want to return it, then only via the same financial method you used to purchase it. Since this voucher itself is "worth no money," you cannot expect any compensation. In other words, you return the goods you bought with the voucher and will at most receive a thank you.

Example: Pax promotion. Buy 2 Pax identical Pax cabinets, get the third free. If you want to return one because you only need 2, you get nothing. You only paid for 2, the third was free and registered as such.

Just buy yourself a nice plant or bed linen or whatever. My god, it’s a gift, you can find something!? I just don’t understand the fuss about redeeming it...

Na.

PS: Buying a regular voucher doesn’t work with this anymore. And I hope no employee recommends that because for reasons like these, there have already been several terminations!

Hi,

thank you very much for the answers.
Then I'll head to IKEA and blow the money.

For about €200, you can still buy one or two nice things, and the idea with the plants is a good one.
