Is a floor drain necessary in the utility room?

Hello, in our future utility room there is a large hot water tank with about 200 liters and also our washing machine. Should a floor drain be installed for possible leaks? Unfortunately, there is currently only the wastewater connection for the washing machine... and no hole in the floor. But there is also no screed yet...

1. Do people still build with such a drain today at all?
2. If yes, is it still possible to add one afterwards?

Regarding 1. AFAIK no, our individual case is also an example of a utility room without a floor drain.
Regarding 2. Retrofitting something like that is very difficult, unless there is a basement or similar underneath. If the utility room is on a slab, installing a floor drain afterward will certainly not be possible (with reasonable effort).

If "subsequently" referred to now, then something could still be done. The room won't be that big so that you couldn't create a slight slope.

However, I see the concern as unfounded.

(Of course, it's different for builders who regularly gut game ... Then you should provide floor-to-ceiling tiles and a floor drain.)
