Hey,
since the beginning we have also kept a construction blog and documented everything in detail there, even long after moving in, up to the present time (over a year later).
The construction blog is a nice memory of the building phase for me and I often look back myself to see when this or that happened and how things were "back then."
Besides, I started the blog to give something back to other future builders, because during the planning phase (and sometimes even today) I often read many construction blogs and benefited from them.
I also didn’t do any advertising on our blog and didn’t make any money from it.
That would have been too much effort for me during the already stressful building phase!
What I always found sad was when nice construction blogs suddenly stopped being updated, and you never found out whether the person was ultimately satisfied with their house or maybe would have changed something afterwards. These are not unimportant aspects for future builders, but probably exactly the information that is especially important.
By the way, I also use Google’s Blogger and am very happy with it.
It’s free, easy to use, and offers plenty of options :)
