I think it was worth it:
1. It’s like keeping a diary; you reflect on the construction progress and keep noticing things that still need to be clarified or where you could ask questions.
2. In our case, after a while the craftsmen also checked, so for example the electrician once stood in front of the door because he saw that the other craftsmen were finished and he could quickly take care of something.
3. The construction company also checks and things were discovered in the photos that they then corrected on their own initiative.
4. It is a nice source of information for friends and relatives who cannot be there live.

I think that a construction blog is a nice memory. In a few years, you can calmly read everything again and remember the (hopefully) beautiful and exciting time. Such a thing is certainly great as help for potential builders as well. At least we learned a lot from reading other blogs or at least got some inspiration - regardless of the company. That way, we could give something back. After signing, we told our advisor / salesperson that we planned to write a blog, which the other employees or the managers apparently partially found out about... certainly sometimes helpful :-)

Hello,

we mainly wrote our construction blog as documentation for ourselves.

We never saw it as leverage against our construction company – on the contrary, our company even actively shared our blog (after asking us).

We still like to read the blog from time to time just to remember details that have been forgotten.

Despite now over 80,000 clicks, we had no advertising revenue.

Regards,

Dirk

And for a blog newbie... where did you set up the blog?

Our blog is on Blogspot.

If interested, I am also happy to provide the address via PM (since it is a link).

I used Google's Blogger option. The address then gets the extension blogspot.com
