Inventory House: Entrance Area Planning

Good evening! We have purchased an existing property and, since renovations are necessary anyway, we want to make optimal use of the available space. The largest unused room, in my opinion, is the extension of the kitchen. A small kitchen table/dining option would be possible. However, I think the space can be better planned, as the dining table is located very close to the (semi-open, separated by a sliding door) kitchen. At the same time, the hallway is currently quite small with little storage options (wardrobe, shoes, dog leash). Upstairs there are 4 rooms and 2 bathrooms. The washing machine is in the basement. Attached you will find the current floor plan and two ideas we had to use the hallway more sensibly or to integrate a storage closet (for vacuum cleaner, etc.). Put the storage room at the bottom left under the WC. Then you will have a nice back kitchen with storage space for the vacuum cleaner and such. You can open up the kitchen and nicely equip it with an island and so on. I would close the living room door and instead install a double glass door to the dining area.
