If you decide instead to work with a planner or architect, they will first create a cost estimate for you. The catch is: it only becomes concrete the more tender documents are returned. This also means that you will only know fairly late what the construction project will actually cost you. However, with this way of building a house, you can still make changes to the fittings later in the construction process, which is not possible with every provider.

Is there a method to check the planner’s cost estimate? There is a lot to read about average values, but they are called that precisely because they are averages. You can end up below or above them. I don’t need an Elbphilharmonie in the garden... Or to have the construction 89% finished and no money left...
