Instead of a detached house, should I perhaps buy a townhouse now?

So I mean there must be a reason for this dream, what about the woman, does she share the wish? I can well imagine why someone would want it that way, also the large property... Searching for a year doesn’t seem long to me yet, you really have to consider whether it is urgent now or whether you could also search for another 5 years – exaggeratedly speaking. How high up on the priority list is the large property and the seclusion? If you cannot be happy without them, I definitely wouldn’t compromise, but on the other hand also not hold on to false ideas. It is clear that the selection with these criteria is very limited and you possibly have to search for several years and in the end really end up in the middle of nowhere. How is it there with schools, shopping facilities and entertainment, also with regard to the child, who will eventually have to get everywhere without a car. This can absolutely not be a decision made by one person alone if everyone is supposed to be satisfied in the end.
