Install venetian blind motors yourself

we have currently received the first offer for the windows and now I am considering whether we should order and install the motors for the [Raffstores] ourselves. With over 20 windows, the savings should be significant, especially since we are planning with [SMI motors].

However, I cannot assess how much effort it is to install such a motor for the [Raffstores]. Is it maybe a fiddly job that is better left to others? Is it also possible process-wise that the installer installs the windows and [Raffstore] (in the insulation, not the masonry) and we then install the motors ourselves?

You can install all the [Raffstores] yourself. On the one hand, no one will deliver [Raffstores] without a motor, on the other hand, you would then have to remove them again to install the motor.

OK, thanks for the info. Certainly helpful. Another alternative would be for me to list windows and [Raffstore] separately.

Installing venetian blinds yourself is not rocket science if you are somewhat skilled with handiwork. Installation, electrical connection, switch installation, and setup took me about 2-3 hours per venetian blind, I believe.

Good to know. We have a little over 20 blinds, and if I now calculate 3 hours per blind, I need 60 hours for that. I will keep that option in the background, but time-wise I probably won’t be able to manage it. Hm, but I also have someone on hand who could install it for me. So now I have to check what the blinds will cost me and then I can compare that well with the offers from the window manufacturers. Now at least I know what I can do and roughly what the time effort is. Thanks!
