Hello,

my name is Markus and I am newly registered in this forum. I am currently planning an Ikea kitchen and I have to admit that new problems arise every day. I think you surely know that

Now to my problem, I would like to install the EH975SZ11E in the kitchen I am planning. The hob has a width of 910mm on the countertop and 880mm as a cutout. The maximum insertion depth is 51mm. The countertop is 40mm. The kitchen consists entirely of cabinets with drawers. Unfortunately, the widest cabinet from Ikea is only 800mm wide, which means that I overlap 4cm on both sides to the next cabinet. So I would have to remove 11mm from the cabinets so that the hob fits by the insertion depth. Will the drawers of the adjacent cabinets still work then? Or is there another solution?

I hope I have expressed myself clearly.

Regards

Markus

Hello Markus,
with the successor of Faktum there are supposed to be 100 cm wide cabinets as well...

The drawers in the neighboring cabinets will still be functional. Take a look at the installation manual from Siemens. That might answer some questions. Or raise new ones, hmm...

Hello Markus,

then you have to notch the side panels of the 80 cm US that are the side cabinets, then the cooktop will fit.

I would be surprised, though, I don’t know this exact Siemens model and I don’t have the technical drawings at hand, but look at the cooktop and below. Maybe the part that goes into the cabinet is <760 mm, then you don’t have to notch anything at all.
If a shelf is required under the cooktop for the Siemens model, you won’t get it in with notched side panels, then no drawers will fit underneath.

@IKEA expert
1000 mm cabinet? So far, I have only found 400, 600, 800 plus 200 online, but those are probably just shelves.

I think the 100 one will be a corner cabinet, since so far no 50 doors are planned, because there is also no 50 cabinet in the system. So for me not conclusive for a 100 base cabinet.

The inside does Not dictate the outside.

Well, we will see, I will be in Norway soon, maybe I will even stop by the elk, then I will see.

You may well be right. In the pictures, the base cabinets look more like 80 cm, and elsewhere it says: "Metod is based on entirely new dimensions, base cabinets has been raised from 70 to 80 cm, and cabinet widths has dimensions 20/40/60/80 cm."
In this respect, IKEA is lagging behind other kitchen manufacturers.
The 100 cm probably refers to tall wall cabinets or those lying sideways. You will see from 15.4.
