Indecisive about expanding an old hillside house with a central staircase

What am I supposed to photograph?

What wanted to see, I don't know. But to get a better idea, it would definitely help me: - Exterior shots, ideally from the front, back, and side - Interior shot of the attic

I would prefer not to post an exterior photo due to identifiability. I can provide the attic in the coming days. I do not want to photograph the inhabited rooms.
In advance for better explanation: only the northern half has a normal ceiling height, and the ridge is located there. The roof is asymmetrical.
This results in a northern floor area of about 70 sqm, which is accessible, and about 70 sqm in the south with a low height. The attic is divided by a beam structure that supports the roof. The division corresponds to the rear wall of the staircase in the other two floor plans.
The 11 kW photovoltaic system is installed on the significantly larger southern roof surface.

Move the entrance for the parents upstairs, enclose the stairwell with drywall partitions. Within the family, you can still use the stairs.

Then you have the entrance side downstairs as cooking/eating/living. Hobby becomes sleeping.

If children come along, a solution will be found. I know two-family houses where the grandparents live on the ground floor and the children/grandchildren in the basement and attic.

Regarding the proposal: the problem currently is partly the internal family use of the stairs. My parents leave the house much less often than they go downstairs for laundry and supplies. That would remain the same, if I understand correctly?

I would move the laundry and storage upstairs as part of the renovation. Laundry baskets and stairs will become cumbersome eventually. You can bring groceries upstairs right away. Otherwise, it’s family, there is still a) knocking b) consideration
