IKEA Pax: possible to raise so that a vacuum robot can pass underneath

Hello,

I have planned a niche in the hallway (the house is currently being built) where I want to place a Pax as a wardrobe cabinet.
I would like to raise the Pax a bit higher (overall to almost 14cm) so that a robot vacuum with its charging station fits underneath.
Can I simply build feet under it, or would it be advisable to support the side panels as well?

Thanks,
Morgenstern

The panels are so thin, I would rather build a complete base, including the back (possibly think about a baseboard!) maybe even out of concrete or stone. One leg can support the cabinet, but not necessarily the wall unit, as the screw attaching the leg may not hold against lateral twisting.

I would cut out the base for the vacuum robot and shorten or neatly saw the door a few cm. This way the robot simply drives into the cupboard. Insert a shelf board placed far down as a new floor and the job is done. However, many robots are not able to park in "garages," so test this first with a cardboard box before you start tinkering.

I would rather build an open-front plinth from multiplex and place the cabinet on the plinth. Pax loses a lot of stability if you remove the front crosspiece of the plinth or manipulate it on the floor. And screw the cabinet securely to the wall and the plinth. The new models are even more unstable than the old ones.

You can stabilize the base-cut Pax wardrobe at the Pax back panel with two Ivar stabilization crosses. If the wardrobe is a standalone piece: screwing it to the wall is a good idea.

Do you already have the Pax shelf? If not, then I would rather switch to Metod.
