Hello everyone,

I have planned and purchased an L-shaped kitchen. Unfortunately, I am frustrated by one detail. I have a corner base cabinet 128x68x80. The first module after the corner is a dishwasher (LAGAN). Unfortunately, the countertop does not rest there and "swings" freely. That is why the connection between the two countertops is very unsightly. What can I do about it? The entire kitchen appears very unstable because the countertops are not connected and do not rest on the dishwasher.

Thank you

Hello,
based on the measurements you have a Metod, not a Faktum kitchen.
Is there a cabinet after the dishwasher on which the countertop rests, or is the dishwasher the end?
Is it a Personlig countertop with a finished corner connection or are you using the FIXA connecting strip?

Hello. Correct is metod not faktum. Arranged as follows in L shape: Base cabinet - Base cabinet - Corner cabinet - Lagan dishwasher - Base cabinet - Stove

I planned the kitchen together with the Ikea employee, but due to the connections had to install the dishwasher as the first module after the corner at short notice. A connection of the countertops (ekbacken) was not delivered. Could not use the rail system during assembly either because there are only drywall walls.

Especially when there are no fixed walls, the rail is advantageous. With EKBACKEN, the FIXA joint strip is not so easy to use because EKBACKEN has square edges. You can check at the hardware store to see if you can find a suitable strip there or create a corner connection with Lamello and countertop connectors. Another alternative, which I am not very fond of, could be the use of, for example, 3 pcs 200 x 60 mm perforated plates (screwed to the bottom of the panels).

But then the entire weight rests on the rail and the front feet. I'm afraid the wall won't hold up to it.

Even with a rail, I would use 4 feet. When attaching the rail, it should definitely also be secured to the substructure.
