Ikea Metod Kitchen Island - Back Panel?

last year we assembled our L-shaped kitchen with a cooking island ourselves, which went reasonably well. What remains are the cover panels for the back of our cooking island. Unfortunately, Ikea only offers a cooking island made of two rows of cabinets, so no cover panels are needed at the back. However, for space reasons, we only have one row of 40-80-40 base cabinets. The standard 60 cm cover panels cannot be easily attached to this because the 80 cm cabinet with the cooktop also has a cutout at the bottom. Does anyone have a clever solution for how to possibly attach the cover panels with "ikea-non" aids? Unfortunately, the cover panels are already unpacked here...

Hello, I would first connect the side panels with a flat connector from the hardware store and if that is not enough, leave out the grid in the cabinet and use a large corner bracket at the bottom.

I would exchange the cover panels (also possible without packaging) with a receipt.

We have installed two 40 cm doors (fronts) on our 80 cm island, since we also reversed a 60 cm cabinet on the long side. A round panel was not an option. I still had a strip of cover panel left which I screwed on the inside of the doors to cover the gap between the two doors and then bought four small steel brackets at the hardware store with which I simply attached the fronts. But you have to work cleanly here as nothing can be adjusted later.
