Hello,
I bought a brown-black Hemnes desk. While assembling the two drawers on the right, I immediately noticed a discrepancy between the parts and the instructions. First of all:
It is probably an old version of the Hemnes for which the enclosed instructions are not suitable. Since I am quite skilled with tools (= trained), no problem at first. So I built the rest first to see which parts were left over.
In the end, I assembled the drawer and joined it with my own screws/wooden dowels.
(According to the instructions, it should be hammered together with plastic dowel nails. However, the boards look slightly different and there are no drill holes for this at all. Instead, there are 2x dowels and 2x cam lock screw combinations).
The enclosed parts apparently also belong to the new version. The plastic nails are leftover, but of course not the cam screws. So I simply screwed the drawer back on with my own screws. The outer shape of the drawer remains the same, so it is overall "correctly" assembled, although different from intended:
Here you can see the discrepancy between instructions and reality (in the instructions the boards also have 3x3 holes on the inside instead of my 2x3, as well as the intended assembly (plastic nails), the intended assembly on the board (cam screws), and the reality (own screws)):

The critical problem only became apparent in the last step.
The drawers do not fit in terms of width. Although the drawer sizes match the carcass (in the new version the outer dimensions were logically maintained). But when I screw on the runners, it quickly becomes clear: This cannot fit.

On page 1 of the instructions it says in pictorial language for dummies: in case of questions, "just" call. No number is provided. I then searched on the internet and quickly realized:
Contrary to my expectations, there is no support for such cases. On the phone, you only talk to robots, and I am not keen to return the Hemnes now, especially since I work during the week and don’t want to waste much time dealing with this.
Now I am considering making my own alternative for the runners.
Quite an Ikea nightmare, especially since the assembly is now costing me a lot more time and there is no service for such cases.
Do you think simply attaching wooden rails on which the drawers rest would be practical?
Best regards,
Jurikles
PS: This is the first time something like this has happened to me. I am really shocked that IKEA completely leaves me in the lurch (I would have expected a free 24-hour on-site help service). This has seriously shaken my previously good impression of the store.
PPS: That the parts don’t fit was noticeable in several other places. For example, the tabletop is also supposed to be installed with cam screws and wooden dowels. But the holes in the tabletop did not match those in the carcass. Luckily this was only the case for the wooden dowels, so I was able to install the tabletop simply with the cam screws. Somehow everything got mixed up here...
