Ikea Faktum base cabinet legs too long

Hello Ikea fans,

I am currently assembling the base cabinets for my new kitchen and unfortunately, the accompanying legs are too long. The stove and sink have a standard height of 85cm. The base cabinets, however, are 70cm and the legs are unfortunately 16. But the countertop still has to go on top. Is this a known problem? How is this usually solved?! If I simply shorten the legs, the plinth will no longer fit. Hmm..

I'm sure you have heard about this before.

The legs are not too long. The 16cm Faktum legs can be adjusted from 14.5cm to 18cm.
Normally, freestanding stoves and dishwashers also have adjustable legs. What doesn’t fit is made to fit.

Important: The assembly instructions do not describe that you have to fix the feet with small screws, otherwise the leg will fall off. Simply screw a screw into the second notch, where the little hole is.

Hello, instead of the 16 cm FAKTUM legs you can use the 11 cm Capita legs or opt for an alternative provider.

I had hoped you would tell me that I could just saw off the legs.

I have now assembled the cabinets and will probably have to lift the stove and sink when the countertop goes on. Hmm.. it would have been nice if someone at Ikea had told me that there are shorter legs. Well.. I didn’t want to saw them off because it would probably have become a bit wobbly and unfortunately the thread is not continuous. It’s a bit annoying that the offered shorter version is too big for normal stoves and sinks..

What kind of stove and dishwasher do you have? For freestanding stoves, no countertop is placed on top; all freestanding stoves I know of, from Oranjer, Siemens, have adjustable feet at the bottom, which can compensate for about 2-3 cm. Take a look at the operating manual. If your dishwasher is 85 cm high, it is probably not a built-in machine but a freestanding one, recognizable if it has a top cover like a washing machine. Built-in appliances have no cover on top and usually have a standard height of about 82 cm. However, since there are significantly taller kitchens too, e.g., 92 cm and more... all well-known manufacturers also offer devices in different heights to match the various kitchen requirements, but these also have adjustable feet. Also, read the operating manual; for some, you can remove the cover to slide them under a countertop. By the way, in Ikea kitchen departments, all available leg options, whether Faktum or Capita, are mounted side by side for viewing. Best regards Nordkäppchen

my dishwasher is not a freestanding appliance. There is the sink and a small basin right above it. Unfortunately, there are no adjustable legs underneath. As mentioned, the height of the appliance is 85 and my stove has the same height. The fact is 70 and the legs for it unfortunately at least 14.5. Because the countertop still has to go on top, the cabinets are therefore too high. I will simply look in the hardware store tomorrow to see how I can raise the appliances a few centimeters. Maybe there is at least a quick solution for that.
