Ideas for implementing a retractable wall

This is a nice gimmick every time for the guest who is attending the fondue evening for the first time (provided they are a fan of Scotty beaming something up). The gag is quickly spent, and neither brainpower nor effort and costs are worthwhile. In reality, it also buzzes more jerkily and creakily, not with such a brisk "swush" as in the movie ;-)

Spontaneously, I thought of an idea for a kind of sliding door that can be moved up and down. Then on the right and left in the lower part there could be guide rails, perhaps with a spring element so that the door springs upward. It would then need to be fixed somehow at the top. But it definitely wouldn’t be a wall, rather a door...

Otherwise, ask the local carpenter, who can surely craft something custom-made by hand. But whether it’s worth it...?

How is a 140 cm high wall supposed to disappear into 110 cm?

Stretch a motorized screen between the ceiling and the wall. Two birds with one stone and so on ;)
