Hello everyone,
after following the vast majority of threads here for many months now, I thought I would also post my problem here.
We will start building our detached single-family house in southern Baden-Württemberg in about 3 weeks. It is a plot with a slight slope (approx. 2.5m over 25m). The house itself faces south. Besides other planning aspects, I am especially uncertain about the furnishing of the living room.
As can be seen in the first picture, the dimensions of the living room are 6.8 x 4.5m. On the right side of the plan there is a kind of room divider (to the dining room) with a gas panoramic fireplace with only low heat radiation (see picture from the fireplace builder). At the bottom of the picture is a window front about 5m long that can be opened from right to left.
As shown in another picture, I thought it made sense (after a first re-planning where the TV was planned above the then tunnel fireplace) to hang the TV next to the fireplace about 1m high on the wall. Media input will be via network or invisible electronics. The sofa is then placed as an L-shape on the northern wall as seen in the picture, to have a view of the fireplace, TV, and outlook from there. The necessary cabinets could then be placed on the left (plan left) wall.
I myself find the TV position not quite optimal but compared to before (centered above the tunnel fireplace) definitely better and could live well with it.
What is your opinion on this layout, especially the furnishing?
