Hello everyone, I am currently facing the mammoth task of planning the kitchen for our new apartment. Since we like the price etc., we have decided on a kitchen from Ikea. After reading into the topic and overcoming the first problems (the cooktop has no 80cm space on the sides, but it can’t be helped), I still have some questions despite this brilliant forum that maybe someone here can answer for me.? Is it more sensible to order in the store or online, are there advantages or disadvantages, what should I do best, where can someone review it again?? Online it said something about a free planning check, elsewhere I read something about €149? How does it work if I want to have the kitchen assembled, do I still have to pay for delivery, or do I have to sort everything out myself in the store even with delivery? What is roughly the average delivery time for a kitchen with assembly without any extras? Is it a problem if the dishwasher is two cabinets away from the sink and connection, or does the drain not work then? ikea appliance plugs? According to Ikea, oven and cooktop cannot be connected to one outlet, is that really the case even if there are two strain reliefs and separate fuses per phase? Is there still space behind the cooktop if the stove connection box protrudes 2-3cm from the wall? I would really appreciate it if someone could give me a few answers. Thanks a lot in advance

Hello,

Personally, I find it easiest to discuss and debate things. But if you look around here more closely, you should see that things can also develop here in the discussion.

Not bad, but the lines need to be extended. You need to check what the device manufacturer specifies. I also find it more practical if the dishwasher is near the sink. Sometimes you rinse something briefly under water before putting it in the machine, or at least scrape off leftovers into the trash can, which is usually in the sink cabinet.

???

If the connection outlet is made for it, it works. For example, from Merten and ABL-Sursum there are suitable device connection outlets. I don't know if there isn't still a VDE regulation that requires an RCD or a circuit breaker that disconnects all phases at once, but your trusted electrician should connect it properly. Kitchen installers with a "cooker connection authorization certificate" might be overwhelmed or not authorized.

I don't understand. The cooktop sits in the countertop, where should there still be space behind it?

The other questions can surely be better answered by the Ikea people here.

Hello,

Nine years ago I planned and put together our kitchen and proceeded as follows:

First, we measured carefully, really in several heights with two people (sometimes the walls are crooked, what fits at the top doesn't fit at the bottom, sometimes you have the famous kink in the appearance) and experimented with the online planner at home. Then we measured all the cupboards we were interested in at Ikea again very precisely, at least as well as we could, and recalculated it at home. We only had a tolerance of 2-5 cm, so our two walls are between 3.12 and 3.15m wide (depending on where measured) and equipped with cupboards of 3.10m each. That was tight, but the measurements fit. At the kitchen studio, they only wanted to equip the walls with 3m each and cover the rest with filler pieces. Since we live near the Dutch border, and the kitchens there were more expensive back then except for a few cupboards, we brought the cheaper ones from there and also assembled them because of the measurements. But there were only two, which were allowed to stand in our living room at that time. We ordered the rest online in Germany. There was no assembly service back then, but we inquired locally with a carpenter about his conditions in case we couldn’t manage alone. One cupboard ordered online was missing a hinge, which was delivered later without problems. Otherwise, everything was in order and complete. Buying on-site, you can take the items directly with you; online back then took almost two months.

Have fun with the mammoth project

The current dishwashers all come from AEG/Electrolux, max. hose length for water supply: 3.9 m with AquaLock (accessory), max. wastewater: 4 m, AEG/Electrolux offers an extension set for the wastewater. The pump can't handle more. Power extension must not be done with multi-socket adapters; all power extensions must meet the same requirements and standards as the original cable. So consult an electrician.

Space is behind the oven.
If two strain reliefs are present, it is possible, but not without further ado. If I remember correctly, VDE also does not allow two conductors under one terminal (neutral conductor and grounding), I think that might be the sticking point where Ikea installers reach the limits of their authorization. So electrician, as the Ikea expert already said.
