Yes, something similar (with a different overall arrangement) will be the case for us too, although we have to bridge significantly less height difference. I think you used the L-stones well... they don’t look as ugly as one usually fears.

Thank you very much for the compliment. I also think that L-stones can definitely be put to good use. Of course, it also has to fit the house. But since clear lines and geometric shapes dominate the overall look in our case, it actually fits very well.

As for our height difference: we had to raise the house that much because we have a basement and wanted to avoid using a pump for drainage. Pumps can fail sometimes, but a natural slope always works.

Best regards

House - high - garage - low, is also a topic for us, but not as intense as with AxelH.

House is fixed/planned: 4m away from the street with finished floor 1.20m above curb edge. I want to slope the height difference on the first 2m, so 50% or 45° slope (max. 60° allowed), the remaining 2m distance should be level up to the house (and one step to the door). Sounds okay to me as a layman.

The driveway next to the house is 5m long (garage therefore set back 1m further than the house) and the question is then: how do we position the garage height-wise. Due to the terrain slope, actually at the same height as the house, but that is difficult because of the driveway slope. Even with only 1m height difference over 5m, that’s a 20% slope... too steep for my taste! At max. 15% slope, the top edge of the garage floor slab should be at 75cm above curb. But is 45cm lower than the finished floor top edge in the house reasonable? I’m curious what the house building company will suggest.
