How must the mounting positions be arranged?

In our new building, an independent granny flat with a separate entrance will be built on the upper floor. That is why the architect also included a third parking space. But the driveway is long enough to park two cars one behind the other. Also, I do not want to sacrifice another part of the garden (next to the conservatory) for a paved parking space. Of course, it is annoying when cars are parked in a row. But our son will move into the granny flat and he will 100% park on the street out of convenience.

Can we omit the third parking space or will this be checked at some point?

I asked the crystal ball. On March 3, 2022 at 9:46 am someone from the building authority will come and have a look. So don't leave it out.

I am very sure that meant that very seriously!

With us, something like that is checked directly during the building application. And who says that your son always lives there? I can’t imagine that the granny flat is approved without a parking space. The form in which it is ultimately built is certainly worth a discussion. But whether at all, certainly not.

You're welcome. But what kind of answer do you seriously expect to your question? You could have also asked whether anyone ever notices that you built 300 sqm + conservatory instead of 150 sqm living space in your new building. Or whether you can drive drunk or if anyone checks that. It might go well or not. You are not allowed to do either. However, you can also plan the third parking space differently than simply paving it. Work with gravel. Work with grass pavers and green it. Etc. With that, you kill two birds with one stone. Build a parking space and at the same time have the chance to use the garden.

OT: I noticed that you will be living on Parkstrasse in the future. That is, after Schlossalle, the second most expensive street in the entire Monopoly. There will surely be a third parking space included.
