How long did you have a construction fence?

New development area, we only had it during the excavation pit. But what I never would have thought is how many people are completely shameless and do house viewings. During the shell construction, but also even when you open the windows for a few hours to dry the screed. On weekends, there are pilgrimage walks. Some people don’t know anything. I would most like to observe that once and then in the afternoon, while they are sitting having coffee and cake, just march through their open patio door.

We also didn't have a construction fence, and actually I never wanted a garden fence either. But strangers are now trampling around in my garden, and craftsmen have already driven their cars through (over my lawn), so a enclosure will have to be put up soon. Respect for other people's property is apparently a foreign word and the disrespect increases day by day.....

Just recently, I was unloading the car when a complete stranger rode up on a bike, stood in front of me and said "he absolutely had to look at this house now and would go around the outside and look in through the window." I was so stunned by this audacity. When I then said that I didn't want that and asked him to leave the property, he said that the house looked shitty anyway....

Unfortunately, many have no respect for other people's property and are brazen. Since we wanted to put a stop to it, there are cameras, screwed-down construction fences, etc., and that from the very beginning. Fortunately, the neighbor also watches out. The tourists who come especially at dusk are funny. Then someone sticks their hand through the construction fence and tries to see if it can be opened easily. At that moment, they are on my property and the clearly visible positioning system swivels to the spot. The facial expression is always funny. Other cameras are also installed in clear view, and we openly say that monitoring is ongoing. Some would enter the property despite all signs and surveillance. It's disgusting... Unfortunately, you really can’t protect your property in Germany. Otherwise, I would have a few more ideas.

Not at all. Felt like only one out of ten in the settlement had one. And if so, then the basement builders, until the basement was finished and the excavation was filled in.

That interests me now ... in Germany, you are allowed to use deadly force to protect your own property, as long as that force is proportionate. So what exactly are you missing?
Automatic firearms traps for trespassing on the property or waterboarding because of stolen chewing gum are probably not covered by this.

We also didn't have a fence. But here it was quite mixed. People with basements always had one, I would say. Some even had the screwed ones... but yes, construction site tourism was also noticed by us many times, and both construction workers from other sites and walkers had little scruples. We addressed all the people we caught on the other sites as well. You recognize the tourists immediately and just as quickly they are gone...

Self-defense is something else. A self-firing device would be an idea, but not allowed with an automatic targeting system. Only with a tripwire for animal deterrence... There are the craziest court rulings. Much worse is that the penalties for offenders are so low. Where I am, I don't worry much that something will happen. The chance of detection is too high and the chance of success and loot too low. What will surely happen at some point is that someone will vandalize the wall. But I am not allowed to monitor it. Or rather, only the 20 cm in front of it, as that is still on my property. But if you put a camera there, the "surveillance pressure" becomes too high. Besides, it doesn't help either. Our surveillance and security system is totally oversized for our security needs. That's because I'm a little technician.
