Hello, originally this was supposed to be about a balcony, I think. Last summer, our balcony had to be renovated because the walls in the room behind it were damp. We live on the 2nd floor, the top floor. The apartment on the 1st floor has a room under our balcony. Everything there was completely dry. Then everything was dismantled in our apartment and rebuilt layer by layer (on top we had granite slabs). The only difference is that the architect of the property management insisted on laying the new slabs with gaps. We couldn't stop him. And now, as spring approaches, the annoyance is showing. In all the cracks, green is already appearing, dense and close together. Even a maple seedling sprouted. I was able to pull out the latter, but not the thousands of tiny green little ones. I don’t think boiling water is good for the foil under the layer of granulate on which the slabs are laid. So I will try the tip with formic acid. But basically the question remains, why did the slabs have to be laid with gaps? Best regards, Daggi
