Not if the content is used up, i.e. exchanged, within one day. That leaves no time for the legionella to grow.

If the water is constantly moving and enough water is taken daily (does not have to be the entire content), then there are no problems with Legionella.

(P.S.: Even if the stratified storage tank has 70°C at the top, it "only" has 40°C in the middle. According to your concern, Legionella should then also form there.)

But now back to topic I would be happy if more people would post their electricity consumption. --> Please specify household electricity separately from heat pump electricity.

Due to legionella: do you also have a circulation pump? I have adjusted/reduced ours, it also costs electricity (it now runs from 6-9 and 17-20).

Yes, I am surprised that it is actually 5 degrees. It is a borehole with 130m.

I am still considering reducing the temperature, but (according to the heating technician) it always depends on where the sensor is located. It can be mounted at different heights, higher or lower. The higher it is, the lower the temperature can be set.

I have turned off the circulation. However, we also have very short distances; the bathrooms are either next to or above the heat pump. I would lower the hot water temperature until Madame complains[emoji6]. No matter where the sensor is located. Legionella are not an issue with consumption; you always have to be a bit careful.

My thoughts on the hot water supply. We didn't install this circulation pump at all. When do we need hot water? Everyone showers for three to four minutes in the morning. That's it. It doesn't need to circulate day in, day out for that. We have heat at 60 degrees. Because with two people it stands unused for a long time. The kitchen only needs cold water. The dishwasher does the washing. Washing machine cold, coffee machine cold. Washing paws cold. Brushing teeth cold. Basically, to be honest, a two-person house without a bathtub like ours doesn't need hot water, but rather a Stiebel Eltron instantaneous water heater with electricity in the bathroom and under the sink. That's it. Our building supervisor just said he can't get that approved under the energy saving ordinance.

Too bad, with low consumption a tankless water heater is often sufficient and very hygienic. Turning off the circulation can apparently cause hygienic problems. I would program the timing well. By the way, with short distances it is a pointless energy waster. But it cannot be changed anymore.
