1k for the house is great for a single person, especially if 2k remain. But that is probably individual, depending on what people spend money on and how much buffer is needed to feel comfortable.

The single doesn’t seem to be the classic single anymore who burns through money without life experience, but rather the one who takes responsibility for a single-family house. Even 1000 should be possible with lower income (e.g. 2000) for a period of time. Times will also eventually improve again.

My goodness, how is someone with 3,000€ net in tax class 1, employed, and a loan burden of 950€ supposed to become poor from the additional house costs? As previously described, the ski vacation or one or the other luxury (!) that one treated oneself to with half the burden of the previous 475€ plus half of the additional costs is then on the checklist... but without children and without maintenance obligations? How can anyone even remotely come up with the idea that 3,000€/2,050€ net could pose a risk, especially since the health insurance is also taken care of? We are talking about someone who earns at least 60,000€ gross, rather 65,000€, annually and at the end of the month just has to maintain the house and fill the fridge.

If it doesn’t work with 3,000€/2,050€, then the problem lies somewhere else but certainly not with the lack of income.

With 2 children and as the sole earner, that’s a completely different matter, but even that some still manage.

Best regards
Dirk Grafe
