House construction in the notification procedure - Building application for garage?

Hello dear forum community,

we are building a single-family house with a garage in Baden-Württemberg. The house is being constructed by a general contractor, and the garage is to be built shortly thereafter by a local carpenter. The documents were submitted in the notification procedure.

Now we are considering enlarging the garage to over 30m², and if I interpret the Baden-Württemberg state building code correctly, I can no longer process the structure "garage" without a permit.

Can I simply continue the house under the notification procedure and submit a building application only for the garage with a planner?

Yes, it’s possible, just consider the additional costs.

Neighbors did it this way; the architect and structural engineer together cost around 2800 euros in 2016.
