My condolences. Do you also often find yourself asking afterwards, "What was I thinking again?" How much I annoyed our home builder with my bluntly fitting and flush door frame block doors. They're nice, of course, but I probably wouldn't be any less unhappy with regular doors either. At least it was a good litmus test for the endurance of the poor builder :D

Thank you very much for your answers :) I think I recognized myself in some comments. Unfortunately, I also have the image of the perfect house in my head and often get lost in details, spent hours searching for wall lights and a gallery light…. the bathroom base cabinets were really terrible – in the end the carpenter is doing them now… We are also still missing the interior doors, they’re supposed to come in 2 weeks. I will have to lower my expectations and be patient, otherwise my husband might still have a breakdown because of me

After the worst was done, I first abstained from forums and social media! All the "what could have been done better" did not do me any good. I spent about 80% of my free time over 2 years on "house building topics." Planning, preparation for work (painting, wallpapering, etc.). Drove myself crazy a lot. Since last week, I have set up the last room - our office - somewhat usefully. Without a basement, one room always had to serve as a storage room. The garage is not finished yet, so there is still "shell construction" here. So you need a corner somewhere for all the tools. It is now divided between the utility room and the dressing room. So once on the ground floor and once on the upper floor. Sometimes I have to look for where I put something (saw, drill, screwdriver, etc.). Currently planning the outdoor area. But I can only really motivate myself again recently, now that the workplace is finally set up in the office! From there, the rest is planned and the many small and large construction sites are planned. Nowadays, you really have the "embarrassment of choice." I also believe that this is why it takes longer than if you - simply put - only have the choice between two versions. :edit Additionally, it should be noted that you currently get almost no feedback on inquiries. Since May, I have received no offers for garage doors... Nothing. Currently three inquiries are running and I have already asked several times, but they just say that "there is a lot of work at the moment"... I heard from an acquaintance that the manufacturers themselves have delivery difficulties and cannot/can only supply some dealers (see other thread here). Oh, and then money is parked at the bank, and you pay penalty interest diligently...
