Further questions about WLAN shutter integration. We are using Gira S55. Are there suitable / recommended flush-mounted shutter switches that enable easy WLAN integration? There will probably be visible switches + the flush-mounted WLAN integration devices.

Goals:
- simple integration / installation
- app usage is an advantage
- ideally proven

We will probably install WLAN / mesh from AVM in two to three different locations, if that is relevant.

Best regards

Dear house building forum,

progress is being made, the electrical installation is partially completed, underfloor heating is installed, screed is heating through. We are getting the Gira S55 line from the electrician. However, we are not taking the thermostats, as these cost 60,- EUR +.

Also, unlike the roller shutter switches, the thermostats are not connected to the Wi-Fi. We will need at least 10, rather 12-13 thermostats for the underfloor heating.

After a brief research, there are thermostats from Viessmann for about half the price. But I don’t want to rely entirely on that, rather I want to rely on your recommendations. Therefore my question to you is which thermostats you could possibly recommend?

Many greetings!

I (like some others here in the forum) recommend simply leaving out the thermostats (possibly a waiver needed for this) Further information can be found here via the, unfortunately poor, search function. Maybe you could describe what you expect from a thermostat ;-) ?

The vast majority of builders don't expect anything from it at all, but simply assume without asking that you just need one. Many simply don't know that it works (better) without one.

Regarding your questions: On the one hand, installation is mandatory (installer and electrician in unison), on the other hand, we have several rooms where the underfloor heating should not run or only very rarely, while the bathroom, for example, should be heated to a higher temperature. Regarding the non-necessity and exemption, I was able to read a little. However, I didn’t quite become clear about it. With the Gira system, one would probably be around 100 bucks, I guess, without having talked about prices concretely. Therefore, Viessmann and Eberle are currently on my mind. I am grateful for further feedback. Best regards!

Mandatory is not generally correct. Exemption (usually) achievable with manageable effort and worthwhile. Tampering with the sluggish underfloor heating system is generally counterproductive. Once a hydraulic balancing is done well, it is good enough with us, for example, for over a year to not have to regulate anything at all!! The physics behind the 2nd law of thermodynamics also makes rooms somewhat further away nearly equally warm and causes the rooms with "switched on" underfloor heating to run outside the optimal temperature in order to help heat the rooms with "switched off" underfloor heating. If possible, I would think more about this. However, in our case, both the plumber and the electrician were reasonable and implemented this without grumbling, on the contrary even with full commitment (without ERR). In addition, such controllers cost a lot in number and mEA are also not really nice. P.S. We have one "Alibi-ERR" per dwelling unit in the utility room which is deactivated
