Higher construction costs due to rising lumber prices

The bark beetle is a disaster for spruce plantations, clearly highlighting decades of catastrophic monoculture forest management. The Bergisches Land is getting a new look due to the numerous cleared areas. We mainly have beech and oak. Although they are also under stress because of the drought, they are far less endangered.

Buying forest land is worthwhile even without timber utilization as a capital investment and contribution to nature conservation. Just leave it alone and enjoy it.

I just looked under my mattress. Unfortunately, there’s no money left there. I will probably move out of the city in about 20 years - maybe then the sale of my future house will leave enough for a forest...
