Hello,
we built a house last year and had a precast concrete garage installed next to it (April 2021).
For 2-3 months it has been noticeably damp in the garage (not just since it got so cold, but already before). It is getting worse. Several items we stored in the garage, including cushions from the garden furniture, have become moldy and tools and metal are already slightly rusted. We no longer even park the everyday car inside, so that no more moisture from the car is brought into the garage. The garage is also ventilated every day, otherwise there would probably be even more moisture inside.
I am attaching a few photos. The garage manufacturer says it is "normal." Of course, I know that condensation can occur in this season, but not that strongly.
In addition, the water is visibly only running down the right side of the garage – exactly where the garage door opening normally is. In our double garage these walls have been plastered again. Just to clarify: our double garage is actually two single garages, which are not next to each other but placed one in front of the other.
Maybe there are some experts here who can say something about this. But it cannot be that you cannot park your cars there and also cannot store anything without it becoming moldy or rusted.
