Hello everyone,

I own the Ikea induction hob NUTID HIN4T.
Today while cleaning, I somehow accidentally activated the child lock and now I don’t know how to undo it. Unfortunately, I can’t find my manual anymore and don’t know what to do now !?!?!

Can someone who also owns this induction hob or knows about it please tell me how I can unlock the induction hob again??

Many thanks in advance!

Regards,
BurningTears

So I have tried for a long time but found nothing, no matter how I searched and I know how to search.

Anyway, I can give two small tips:

1. TURN OFF the fuses (power off) and then try. (There are models where that works!)

2. Try something like PRESS A BUTTON and IMMEDIATELY AFTER that press e.g. " " and "-" at the same time, release and then immediately press " " to activate or "-" to deactivate.

This is an instruction for some other device. Trial makes wise! Best to fiddle around like that, eventually you figure out how it works. But unfortunately I couldn’t find any instructions for exactly this device online and I really tried hard.

Definitely try the power thing (just the electric stove fuses), so turn off the power and wait a few minutes. Some electronics have a memory that does not disappear immediately and remembers things for a few seconds or even minutes due to energy storage.

With bad luck it’s flashed and stays in there forever (i.e. stored in a chip that does not need power to keep its data).

Then the only option is to call Ikea, it’s really quite simple, or send an email, they help very quickly.

Sure, you want to cook, it never goes fast enough for you I did my best.

Above all, try such key presses. (Use a bit of logic about how it was probably programmed, that is, first press something after or during power on and that " " should mean activate, so don’t press randomly but think about it)

And turn off the power, that might already be it! (wait a few minutes so the buffer in the electronics can discharge if the device is built like that)

Thank you very much for your help.

I had already tried various key combinations, but none of them worked.
And then I actually had to take out the fuse, waited a few minutes, and then it worked again.

I would have called IKEA as well, but nobody is there on Sundays and I needed the stove today.
It’s annoying because I don’t even know what I pressed to activate it. It happened by chance while swiping over it, but unfortunately I don’t know exactly what I hit...

But whatever, it’s working again and that’s the main thing. Thank you very much and have a nice evening!!!

So the problem was only solved via electricity after all, I could have made it easier for myself, but I searched for the instructions for so long that I got a bit carried away explaining, hehe.

But try asking by email (see under Questions & Answers/FAQ at the bottom of the Ikea page) whether they can send you the instructions again as a PDF. I have received instructions by email from the service centers of even the cheapest companies (cheap junk sold by supermarkets).

Give it a try, Ikea is good, but be patient and also remember that something can go wrong. Patience, and if nothing happens, ask again, but all calm. That’s how it was for me too. The thing with the vouchers they unexpectedly promised me for my small complaint but didn’t come. I contacted them 2 months later with details of the email correspondence (important), and then there was a big apology and it was sent out immediately. Just 2 days, then it was there (had been left lying around).

But it’s nice to be able to help sometimes. Only the stupid instructions I couldn’t find anywhere online. I’m currently laid up, so I have time and I took that time. Sorry

Simply hold down the button with the key for 5 seconds. That's all.

Hello!

Operating manuals as PDFs (in English) can only be found on ! For example, also for kitchen parts

For your cooktop NUTID HIN4T, the English operating manual is here: NUTID HIN4T.

There in the PDF on page 4 under "Child Safety" read - but it works as already described by Thilo72:

PS: For whatever reason IKEA Germany has no PDFs on the internet, no one knows, no one understands it and it is simply not modern customer service. I got the tip with from the forum here.
