I know glass as a wall covering for kitchens, basically find it great, but always completely overpriced. These are (stable) glass panes, which are painted on one side.

There are materials with which walls can be coated without seams. The owner, Mr. Backstein, will surely be happy to provide information.

Otherwise, I think: tiles belong to the best building materials you can wish for and advise to reconsider any aversion to them. The selection is huge, the experience of craftsmen widespread, the durability (if done properly) eternal... Glazing on ceramics is thousands of years old and lasts just as long.

Among the most beautiful buildings to my taste is the Ishtar Gate - it is completely covered with tiles.

No, because we find tiles (matte) very beautiful.

Best regards

I mentally associate them with butcher shops or slaughterhouses. Rooms without tiles usually also seem more homely to me. But my aversion is not absolute; there are beautiful tiles and design possibilities. I was just interested in the alternatives. However, I will involve you and the other forum members in the selection anyway.

Breaking the association with the operating room or sausage kitchen is easily achieved by finishing the tiling up to the drip height of the door, except for the area of the shower.

I would like to have a windowsill in the bathroom on the window. So far, I have always had floor-to-ceiling tiled bathrooms, with tiled windowsills. It always looked like in large kitchens (ugly version of this design style) or like in a hotel (nice version of it), but I never really found it successful. I wouldn’t want it myself if I could choose.

Furthermore, I have also noticed that every topic you deal with becomes a "world issue." I believe, in the end, it doesn't really matter. One looks good, the other looks differently good. You always like something about your own choice (even if it's the price), otherwise, you wouldn't have made that choice.

I am curious about your tile selection.
