I like the idea. Nothing against "decisions made alone," but "together" can be especially enjoyable ....

My experience: it is completely sufficient to let the shower run and behind the toilet. You can safely leave the rest plastered. Looks better, saves money.

You can already see that there are very different opinions on this. But only toilet and shower? What about the bathtub? The sink? I didn’t want a plastered wall there. But if you tile them individually as well, you end up with a perfect patchwork. Better to agree on one height, whichever it may be.

Yes, uniform height for the sink, toilet, and bathtub. Height doesn't really matter, so whether 120 or 150. A matter of taste! For us, it's 140, it just turned out that way because of the tile height. The area should definitely be above the height of the light switches/possibly sockets (otherwise you get nice marks on the painted wall) and also still provide splash protection at the sink. Don't forget the mirror above the sink. Either tile it in as a frame or hang it above. The height of the tiles can also make a difference here. Ours hung a bit too high until the kids got bigger.

It depends on how you do it. For me, it would be a no-go to tile all the walls. Only in the areas where there might be splashing water. So definitely not tile everything! ==> Opinions vary that much...

I think so too: there is no right or wrong, only personal taste AND one's own imagination and creativity.

Whether it looks elegant, funny, simple, solid, practical, expensive or maybe quirky ... it all has its place
